We have been enjoying the preschool kids’ visits every fortnight. The kids walk to FRC and spend some time with the residents, enjoying some activities together. It has been wonderful to see the kids and residents interact with each other and the residents have really been enjoying it – the kids are just wonderful with them!
The cinema sessions have been continuing every Monday and Friday. It has become a popular activity, with residents enjoying their comfy recliner chairs and snacks during movie time.
Armchair travel is now being held as a regular activity. Residents have their own passport stamped with every country we visit. The corner shop is due to be opened on Monday 13th March and will be open Mondays and Wednesdays from 10.00am – 2.00pm. We look forward to any suggestions from residents, families and staff, for items that may be useful to stock in the near future. The suggestion of a small outdoor seating area where milkshakes and spiders may be enjoyed is something we will be looking into in the near future.
Our Wednesday churchgoers visited the community church for the first time in February and the feedback was very positive. This visit will continue on the third Wednesday of every month.
We have also reached out to the Finley High School agriculture program. A visit to FRC has been confirmed for Wednesday 5th April to bring the farm animals for the residents to meet.
